StandUp for Kids – Orange County
Each day, at-risk youth throughout various StandUp for Kids chapters are receiving the necessary mentoring and guidance needed for a successful transition into adulthood. The work that StandUp for Kids accomplishes daily would not be possible if not for the efforts of its donors, community partners and volunteers. For this month, StandUp for Kids would like to highlight the work of Dr. Stephanie Schneider with the honor of Supporter of the Month for March 2020.
Stephanie serves as an advisory board member for StandUp for Kids. After a long-distinguished career in education working at the Orange County Department of Education, UC Irvine, and USC, she became involved with the organization.
The issue of youth homelessness was something that Stephanie was passionate about and wanted to help end.
“The idea of homeless children was something that touched my heart. It was something that I realized shouldn’t be. It needed to be addressed.”
Specifically, it was the individual work that was being done at StandUp for Kids that Stephanie sought to be a part of.
“I love the good that gets done. I love the idea that it’s one life at a time. It’s not covering the earth with whatever it might be. It’s working individual to individual heart to heart and making sure that every youth has what they need.”
At StandUp for Kids, Stephanie works one on one with students exploring all avenues to help ensure that they have all the resources needed to continue their academic path unimpeded. Some of Stephanie’s fondest memories include seeing a youth she’s worked with acquire the funds needed to be able to attend college.
Stephanie hopes to continue her work with StandUp for Kids in impacting the lives of youth in a positive manner.
“I am honored to be the Supporter of the Month for March 2020, and I intend to continue for a long time with the organization.”
StandUp for Kids is grateful for the work that Stephanie, its donors and its countless volunteers accomplish on a daily basis. However, there’s no such thing as too much help. If you would like to get involved please email [email protected] and get started today!
