Miami

Welcome to StandUp for Kids – Miami!

Please note that the Miami program is currently on hold. If you are interested in a leadership position to help us get back up and running, please email us at Miami@standupforkids.org.

We are currently rebuilding our program. You can be sure your time and talent will be put to good use if you volunteer with us to end the cycle of youth homelessness in Miami.

The StandUp for Kids program in Miami has had a great history. It was founded in 2004 with street outreach that operated by car and by foot to reach youth who might not otherwise know about or trust other programs and services to get back on their feet. In 2007, we began a mentoring program, in 2008 an outreach center, and in 2009, we founded a task force to address youth homelessness and bring a coalition of providers and advocates together across Miami-Dade County. By 2013, we expanded outreach to three nights per week and provided evening academic support and meals through 2015. Because we rely on volunteers, we occasionally experience periods of less activity. We are emerging out of that period right now with tons of energy and new leaders!

Becoming a volunteer is easy and it will positively be rewarding. Please contact us via email and we will be in touch with you soon to schedule a volunteer orientation and walk you through the steps to get started.
