StandUp for Kids - San Diego opened its doors in 1990 as the first StandUp for Kids chapter. StandUp for Kids - San Diego operates four core programs:
- Outreach Drop-In Center
- Street Outreach
- Housing Support
Teen homelessness rates are on the rise. Our concern is that homeless kids are the most likely target of human traffickers, pornographers and gangs. These vulnerable kids are forced to endure unimaginable horrors, just to survive.
Our main focus is on prevention; providing an array of resources and services to help homeless youth on their journey to self-sufficient adulthood.
StandUp for Kids - San Diego has successfully incorporated:
- Send-A-Kid Home Program (where are kids are re-united with a responsible family member who provides a safe and secure home for family member)
- Snack & Shower Program (provides service to kids that are living in cars)
StandUp for Kids – San Diego served over 320 duplicated youth and our volunteers donated over 9,000 hours of service in 2019.
