Harrison’s Hope is our family’s personal mission, created in loving memory of Carl Harrison Spear—known to many as Harrison, H, June Bug, or Lil’ Pump—a young man who was unapologetically himself and impossibly easy to love. Harrison was larger than life: loud laughter, ever-changing style, stubborn beard, freckled skin, and hazel eyes that carried both mischief and empathy. He felt everything deeply and lived with his whole heart. A lover of the outdoors, sports, music, bugs, fast cars, and late-night scream-singing, Harrison moved through the world like a wildflower pushing through pavement—resilient, defiant, and beautifully authentic.
Harrison’s life was marked by challenges that no child should have to carry—Type 1 diabetes, mental health struggles, and substance use—but he persisted with grit, humor, and an open heart. What defined him most was not his pain, but his compassion. He had a natural instinct to protect and nurture others, especially those younger than him or without a place to land. Harrison believed deeply in second chances and showed that belief through action, volunteering with StandUp For Kids, the charity our family proudly supports in his honor. StandUp For Kids serves adolescents and young adults up to age 25 experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, and other adverse life experiences—providing housing support, job readiness, stability, and community. Through donations made in Harrison’s name, supporters help turn love into action and ensure that young people are met with dignity, care, and hope when they need it most.
Harrison’s hope lives on through every young person given the chance to begin again.
