Across the country, Alpha Xi Delta sisters are turning compassion into action for young people experiencing homelessness or facing difficult circumstances. From collegiate chapters to alumnae associations, their support of StandUp for Kids demonstrates what can happen when sisterhood, service, and a shared purpose come together.
Each November, during National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, Alpha Xi Delta launches its Letters of Love campaign. Sisters reach out to family and friends, inviting them to make a donation in support of the young people served by StandUp for Kids. Every letter helps expand awareness of youth homelessness while raising critical funds for outreach, meals, mentoring, practical resources, and ongoing support.
Alpha Xi Delta’s annual Day of Service brings that generosity to life in local communities. Sisters and alumnae volunteer their time, collect urgently needed supplies, assemble care packages, and support local StandUp for Kids chapters. Some include personal notes of encouragement in the packs they prepare, adding a thoughtful reminder that each item was assembled with intentional thought of the young people served.
Their commitment extends well beyond these national initiatives. Throughout the year, Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae groups host creative fundraisers, organize donation drives, raise awareness, and introduce new supporters to our mission. Every effort, large or small, helps StandUp for Kids respond to immediate needs while building the consistent relationships that can help change a young person’s direction, and often times prevent homelessness.
From coast to coast, Alpha Xi Delta sisters are demonstrating what sisterhood in action truly means. We are deeply grateful for the funds raised, the supplies collected, the hours volunteered, and the care behind every effort.
