“Beyond the gated subdivisions and manicured lawns that dot North Fulton, are nearly 650 students who attend classes each day at area schools, then head “home” to sleep in shelters, motels, their cars or on a friend’s couch.

“Youth homelessness in North Fulton is definitely not on most people’s radar,” said Julie Binney, an advocate for homeless youth through StandUp For Kids (SUFK).
“Most teens want to fit in. They don’t want to call unnecessary attention to themselves,” Binney said. “And they don’t want all of their friends and teachers to know they are homeless.”
