StandUp for Kids – Thurston County

Over the past month, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen drastically in Olympia, grocery stores are emptying out of necessities quickly, and countless jobs and hours have been lost. For all, this has been a time of uncertainty and fear. For our homeless youth, this is a magnified normal of isolation, fear, and lack of resources. We need your help. Click here to support our youth.

Many of us are lucky enough to be able to shelter in place and quarantine with the security of loved ones in a familiar and comfortable environment, but for our youth on the streets, this is not an option. They do not have easy access to gloves, masks, running water and soap, or have spaces where they can safely distance themselves from others. The City of Olympia is taking many needed measures to resolve some of these issues (read more, here) but we need immediate support for our youth.

We are asking that you consider donating to our Olympia/Thurston County StandUp for Kids program. Youth on the street are in desperate need of hygiene supplies, food, and shelter, all of which are dwindling quickly in availability.

We warmly welcome any donations at this time. We will get through this together!

If you prefer to donate resources, listed below are our current essential needs:
Please message us on Facebook to coordinate drop-offs.

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Cup of Noodles, Cup of soup, Oatmeal
  • Hot cocoa and Apple cider packets
  • Coffee, creamer, sugar, cups w/lids
  • Nuts, trail mix, beef jerky, high protein bars
  • Chicken/tuna snack packs with crackers
  • Wipes
  • Washcloths and hand towels

Please help us support our youth and make a donation today. Click here to make a gift.

Our deepest respect goes out to those who are working on the front lines during this pandemic to keep us safe. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication during this time. And all of us at StandUp For Kids – Olympia/Thurston County send sympathy to those who have been affected by coronavirus. Wishing you health, wellness, and love at this time.
