Community Outreach:
Day of Spanging Event

On April 3rd, 2004 Teeyana Roxton, Aimee Soto, Cheyenne Walker and Cassandra Clark were among the Boston Renaissance Charter School students who participated in our Community Outreach: Day of Spanging Event. We were definitely pleased to have these young ladies with us. As we educated the public about homelessness among youth, we also hoped to build their awareness at an early age.

Recently, these phenomenal young ladies reminded us that the power and potential of youth should never be underestimated. On Friday, June 11th they young ladies donated over 1,835 items for hygiene kits to StandUp For Kids-Boston. They organized the drive among 4th, 5th and 6th grade students of their school. This was an enormous undertaking that produced remarkable results.

We were completely astounded, thrilled and overjoyed by the enormity of their donation. Thank you Teeyana, Aimee, Cheyenne and Cassandra for striving and succeeding in making a difference in the lives of Boston’s homeless, street and at-risk youth. It is our hope that you realize the depth of your achievements. We wish you all the best as continued success in all you aspire.

Northeastern University
On Saturday, April 3rd Northeastern University will be joining the staff of STANDUP FOR KIDS-Boston to do community outreach in and around the Boston area. We are looking for other colleges to join us to educate the community about homelessness among our youth, highlight the STANDUP FOR KIDS program, and raise money and awareness to support our outreach efforts. It’s all in ALL IN ONE DAY!!!!!

Please email boston@standupforkids.org if you are interested in joining us!
