Welcome to
StandUp For Kids - .
The mission of StandUp For Kids is ending the cycle of youth homelessness.
We do this, every day, in cities across America. We carry out our mission through our volunteers who go to the streets in order
to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless and street kids improve their lives.

Core Services
The Miami program concentrates on five core services to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth:
Street Outreach:
We find and stabilize youth before risks overwhelm them. We do this front-line work in two neighborhoods by foot and specialize in a third street outreach for commercially sexually exploited children.
Drop-In Program:
We offer comprehensive services under one roof on a weekly basis in a program we call NEST (Nights of Empowerment and Safety for Teens).
Read more about NEST here.
Mentoring:
Through groups and individual mentoring, we offer caring relationships and teach important life skills to young people who are about to cross the threshold into adulthood and need the support of a consistent mentor.
Advocacy:
We create public awareness, build coalitions, improve rights, and redirect services for youth in need. One initiative chartered by StandUp For Kids is the Miami Task Force for Homeless Youth, which you can read about
here.
Prevention:
We deter youth from running away by helping them locate school and community supports. Through "Don't Run Away" clubs in local high schools, students are empowered to deliver workshops and skits to students in younger grades.
