There are a number of things
that you can do and many ways that you can get involved
with STANDUP FOR
KIDS. First of all, we have an extensive and dynamic training
program that gets you ready to work with the homeless and
street kids. About 20 hours of jam packed "action filled"
street stories, dos and donts, and role playing.
And, this is all free! Our National Training Manual
is now being used in a number of other programs and states
to teach volunteers how to work with and help homeless and
street kids.
We know that not everyone wants
to be an Outreach Counselor OR work hands on with kids.
So, like other organizations, we too have many positions
that need to be filled that require many different levels
of leadership or expertise. Theres a great and challenging
place for you! One that is rewarding and meaningful!
Nationally were more
than 99.5% volunteers. We have hired two of our street kids
to help us train and work with volunteers.
We heard about your great skills
and want you to know that we have a number of Board and
Leadership positions that need to be filled. If youre
that fast track executive and want experience working with
a nonprofit, or sitting on a board of directors, give us
a call! Or, if you have the expertise to help us lead this
program in the new millennium please email us!
Whatever position you feel
you can fill, complete the volunteer application
and submit it to us. Or, if you just want to know more about
us drop us a quick e-mail.
If you want to work "hands
on with kids" we ask for three to four hours per week.
Most other positions require between one to two hours per
week.
We know that your time is valuable.
So, please know that your time and assistance is greatly
needed and very much appreciated.
We generally conduct an orientation
once a month. Plan to attend the next one and see what we're
all about. Within a few weeks you can be
making the difference in the life of a homeless kid!
