What if you could
help just one young person get off the streets
of Clark County and into a normal life...
Did you know there are more than two thousand homeless
and displaced young people roaming the streets and
back alleys of the Las Vegas Valley at this very moment?
Maybe you've seen them.
Maybe you haven't.
But, they're there. At first glance, many look
like normal kids, at least during the day.
But when night comes, so do the dangers, the
fears, and the struggles to stay alive.
Some refer to them as the “children of the night.” Most are under 18, and are forced to break the law just to
survive. Drugs,
stealing and prostitution become part of their lives
not by choice, but out of necessity.
They are frightened and scared.
They'd much rather be in a safe, caring environment
where they can grow up and become productive adults.
That's where you come in. If you want to!
You can help us reach out to the street kids of Las
Vegas in a number of ways.
You can be trained as a counselor and talk
to the kids directly.
You can help us raise money.
You can donate gifts-in-kind, like toothbrushes,
clothing and blankets.
You can help us spread the word about the plight
of these young people who have been lost to the streets.
The street kids of Las Vegas need people like you. Can you think of a better investment of your time, energy and
resources than helping young people turn their lives
around?
If you have at least three hours a week, you can
make a difference.
You'll be trained free of charge, you'll develop
new relationships with other committed volunteers,
and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did
a world of good for the young people of our community.
