Volunteers of the Quarter
Each
quarter, StandUp For Kids of Orlando volunteers and
directors will nominate a fellow volunteer for special
recognition due to their extraordinary efforts. Based
on the testimonies, the executive directors will
select a volunteer for the ‘Volunteer of the
Quarter’ award. This award will recognize
the selected candidate’s achievements and dedication
to StandUp For Kids of Orlando. The award includes
a certificate of appreciation, recognition in our
newsletter, and a small gift.
Due to popular demand, we have TWO outstanding volunteers
for the award this quarter. Both volunteers
started working with SUFK of Orlando since its inception
in 2005, and have been instrumental in the development
of the program.
StandUp For Kids of Orlando is pleased to announce
that Catherine Majorossy and Mirella Del Pino as
the Volunteers of the Quarter (Jan-Mar 2006)!!! Catherine
is the Director of Volunteers for Orlando, and has
been extremely reliable in communications with all
current and prospective volunteers. Furthermore,
she has the most experience with SUFK coming from
another chapter; thus, she has helped the executive
leadership team through many obstacles. Mirella
is our only high school student volunteer, but don’t
let her age fool you, this young lady has been a
GREAT asset to SUFK! She has collected more
than $600 in donations, and was able to get her high
school involved with helping. Mirella has helped
with fundraising, awareness and prevention!
Congratulations to both
Catherine and Mirella! Thank you for all
of your hardwork and dedication! See below
for their introductions.
Catherine Majorossy, Director of Volunteers
Hi my name is Catherine. I am currently
a senior at the University of Central Florida. On
May 5th, I will graduate with my Bachelor of Science
degree in Psychology. I am in the process of
the application game for graduate school, so I can
earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I
have been a steady volunteer with StandUp For Kids
for almost a year. I love to bargain shop,
go to the beach, and spend time with my amazing family,
boyfriend, and friends. My main goal in life
is to help as many people as I possibly can.
