StandUp for Kids - Miami

11/1-12/31 Calling an End to Homeless Youth Campaign - Ask us how you can set up a “used cell phone drive” at your office, church or school. All phones donated will help us raise money for our programs to help youth in need. Email us to inquire at: miami@standupforkids.org

11/13 Homeless Youth Campaign Rally in support of Homeless Youth Awareness Month! Being planned. Stay tuned for more details on this event. On February 10, 2006, Patrick Taylor of the Miami team presented a letter of commendation to the North Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department on behalf of STANDUP FOR KIDS. During 2005, the North Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department generously donated use of the Marjorie and William McDonald Center for use by STANDUP FOR KIDS – Miami and STANDUP FOR KIDS – Ft Lauderdale. The use of this facility allowed us to present our cause to the public as well as train over 60 volunteers in 2005! Their support played a key role in the launch of both of our programs! Thank you once again for your exceptional commitment to our youth!

Whether you are outgoing or introverted, a self-starter or need a little kick-start, or anywhere in-between, we can use your help!

While our leadership team is forming, there are still some great opportunities for dedicated leaders. We are currently recruiting for the following positions: Co-Executive Director, Director of Volunteers, Director of Community Resource Development, and Director of Fund Development. We are also looking for survey assistants to help us complete our survey of the Miami area.

STANDUP FOR KIDS is the nation’s largest volunteer organization working with and for runaway, homeless and street-dependent youth. We train our volunteers to go to the streets to tell youth that we care – and then we prove it. We offer hope and friendship to kids who are desperate to survive and to make sense of life in general.
