What’s New in Chicago

Summer 2018 has brought a wave of activity for the Purple People in Lakeview. We experience more and more youth coming to us not just for basic needs like food and clothing, but for much needed moral support to help them survive the challenges they face every day in our city. We continue to see our growing volunteer base develop deep connections with our teens. We meet new donors and partners from across Chicagoland every week, interested in the mission of StandUp For Kids and how they can take part in breaking the cycle of youth homelessness.

In This Issue:

Golf Outing 2018       Meet A Chicago Volunteer       Purple Palooza

Special Thanks to Cooper’s Hawk and Eric Fox

Although the summer is coming to a close, we still have two major events to look forward to: our Annual Golf Outing on Friday August 24th and Purple Palooza on Saturday September 8th. We’re excited to see old friends and make new ones at both fundraisers and would love to see you there. This year, our fundraising events are particularly important. Utilizing the funds raised at the events, we will deepen our programs to reach a greater number of teens and enhance the resources aimed at assisting our teens to break from the cycle of homelessness and poverty. We’re hoping to deliver services that reinforce our teen’s life skills, create opportunities for them at every turn, and instill a positive outlook that focuses on what they can do in spite of the obstacles coming their way.
