Bring your whole team to network with other local business leaders who care about helping their community. You’ll have the opportunity to mingle with other like-minded people while supporting a very worthy cause that needs your help more than ever.
In our recent blog article, we shared how tuition hikes at local colleges has led to more students becoming homeless. At Saddleback College alone last year, 1,100 students were identified as homeless, with about 200 of those students sleeping in cars, campgrounds, beaches, under freeways and the surrounding residential areas. That makes up one portion of the more than 28k homeless youth living in Orange County.
We have programs to help end the cycle of homelessness at various stages in the kids’ development. Our entrepreneur program and STEM programs help Junior High and High School kids prepare for success as they grow into adulthood. Our street outreach program finds youth living on the street and offers support in the form of securing housing, career coaching, and ongoing mentoring. In all cases, we help prepare Orange County’s homeless and at-risk youth for independence and self-sufficiency.
