StandUp For Kids - Birmingham is a new chapter that started up in January 2010. We spent some time searching for a location for street outreach and landed in a place at the center of our city. In a short time we have made substantial strides in developing relationships with homeless and at-risk youth in Birmingham and look forward to doing more in 2011 and beyond.  

Services Provided

Street Outreach - Street Outreach counselors go to the streets and try to reach homeless kids. The single greatest need for homeless and street kids is continuous caring and real support. StandUp For Kids provides additional services. Befriending homeless kids and letting them know that caring adults are concerned about their well-being is the first step toward helping these kids get off the streets and live a better life.

In addition to street outreach StandUp For Kids Birmingham conducts mentoring assistance with homework, games and birthday parties at North Avondale Library.
